Managing your Balsamiq Cloud subscription


This page will describe how the Billing Admin can sign up for and make changes to a Balsamiq Cloud subscription.


Signing up for a subscription

The Billing Admin can sign up for a plan on the Billing page. For Billing Admins that are part of the Space (Space Owner or Staff Member), this section can be reached via the Avatar Menu in the upper-right corner, and then "Sign Up For a Plan."

The Space Owner(s) can also designate an external person to manage billing. To do so, they can scroll down to the bottom of the Billing Page, to the "Billing Administrator" section. Here, they can enter the external email address they wish to make the Billing Admin, and then click the "Save Changes" button.

Once they click "Save Changes" a new button will appear below the email text box: "Email them a link to this billing page." This will allow the Space Owner to email the external Billing Admin a link to the billing page.

To sign up for a paid subscription, the Billing Admin can pick a plan and select the Subscribe button.

You can choose to be charged either monthly or yearly, then proceed to enter your credit card information in the secure sign-up form through Stripe. Invoices will be sent via email to the selected Billing Admin (either the Space Owner, Staff Member or an external email address). Review your information and click "Subscribe" to complete the process.

As usual, you are free to cancel your subscription at any time.


Accessing the billing page

If the Billing Admin is a member of the Space, they will need to log in to the Balsamiq Cloud Space, and then go to the Billing page. This can be reached by selecting the Avatar in the top right corner of the Space, and then “Manage Subscription" (or "Sign Up For a Plan," if the Billing Admin has not yet subscribed to a paid plan).

If the Billing Admin is an external person, that is not a member of the Space, they simply need to click the billing link in the email sent by the Space Owner (If they have lost the link, they can just ask the Space Owner to send it again).


Changing your plan

The assigned Billing Admin can change the plan at any time on the Billing page.

Select the appropriate button next to the desired plan:

When changing plans, you’ll automatically receive credit for any time remaining on the old plan. If additional payment is due, your credit card will be charged. Any unused credit will be applied toward future renewals.

Your billing renewal date will remain the same if you are only changing the number of projects on your plan. We will adjust the charge for the current renewal period. Changes between monthly or annual payments will move the billing renewal date to the date the plan was changed, and your new subscription plan will start immediately.


Finding past invoices

We send invoice notifications via email following your automatic credit card payment to the Billing Admin's email address.

A link to your downloadable invoice is included in this notification email. The Billing Admin can also find all past invoices by accessing the Billing page. Then they can click the “Manage Billing info” button to access the Invoice History.

If you need to share invoices with someone, the Billing Admin can forward the email notifications. Although the Billing Admin must be logged in to Balsamiq Cloud to view the Billing Information, the link to the invoice can be viewed and downloaded by your finance team without logging in.

If the Billing Admin needs to change their registered email address, this change must be done within the corresponding User Settings.


Updating your credit card or invoice information

The Billing Admin can update the credit card or invoice information by accessing the Billing page and then clicking "Managing Billing Info."

Select the "+" button to add a new credit card on file, or the "X" button to delete a payment method. To update the billing address on future invoices without changing the card, select "Update information."

To update the email address for future invoices, the Billing Admin can change their registered email address within the corresponding User Settings.


Stopping your subscription

To cancel the subscription, the Billing Admin should access the Billing page and then click “Manage Billing Info.”

On the Billing Portal, the Billing Admin should click the “Cancel plan” button, and finally the “Cancel plan” button on the next page, to confirm.

After canceling your subscription, your credit card will not be charged again, unless you restart your subscription and enter your credit card information again. Upon the conclusion of the current billing period, you will only be able to view your wireframes, but you will not be able to edit them or create new ones.

Please review the details of your options before canceling your subscription to make sure your team downloads any work they would like to keep.


Restarting your subscription

After your subscription ends, due to your trial ending, credit card renewal trouble, or because the time remaining on your canceled plan ended, your Space will be suspended for 30 days. During this time, your Space will be in read-only mode, which means the projects will still be viewable to Space Owner(s) and Staff Members, but they will not be editable.

While the Space is in read-only mode, the Space Owner(s) will still be able to download projects,and the Billing Admin can permanently delete the Space or restart the subscription.

To restart your subscription, the Billing Admin should access the Billing page and click the "Renew Subscription" button. The Billing Admin will be sent to the Billing Portal, where they can click on the "Renew plan" button and then finally click on the "Renew plan" button on the next page to confirm. Depending on when you canceled your subscription, you may be charged immediately.

If you choose not to restart the subscription, your Space data will be deleted after 30 days.


Pausing your subscription

If you would like to temporarily pause your subscription, but do not wish to cancel outright to avoid the hassle of starting over in the future, you can pause your subscription. This way, you can keep your Space around, along with its Settings, Projects and Staff Members without being billed for it.

The Billing Admin of a Space can pause a subscription at any time by accessing the Billing page, scrolling down to the "Pause your subscription" section and finally clicking the “Pause Subscription” button.

You will not be able to access your projects while the subscription is paused, but we will keep your Space and projects around for you, and we will not charge your card. Once you resume the subscription, you will regain access to your Space and projects.

To resume your subscription, access the Billing page and then click on the "Resume Subscription" button.
